Help fund Community Ceramics!
After Hurricane Helene devastated the entire region of Western North Carolina. Marshall, NC was one of the towns that was under 27 feet of water. It absolutely annihilated the historic downtown of Marshall. Having grown up here, seeing the town in such a state was terribly traumatic, yet seeing the entire region come together to help one another has been such an inspiration.
My name is Taylor-Rae and I am starting a membership based community ceramics studio in the historic downtown of Marshall, NC. The goal is to create a public access pottery studio that serves the community in various ways. We will offer membership, classes, and a scholarship program for Madison County residents. Because this is being founded with the principles of community empowerment, we are taking the alternative route to funding by choosing to crowdfund.
Crowdfunding keeps small businesses from being under the thumb of big banks and loans that inevitably bleed communities dry. When we keep those resources tight and share from one another, the community has the opportunity to build something together, something that is everlasting.
Your contribution means so much to us! without your generosity, helping to rebuild Marshall, NC would be much harder!
